Parkinson Support Center of Kentuckiana RECEIVES GRANT FROM ARGI GIVES COMMUNITY GRANT PROGRAM FOR Medication Management

Louisville, KY January 22, 2019 – Parkinson Support Center of Kentuckiana is pleased to announce it has received a $1,300 grant from the ARGI Gives Community Grant Program. These funds will support the Medication Management Program.

Medication Management provides a 90 minute education session with Chris Harlow, Director of Pharmacy Services at Your Community Pharmacy.  Topics covered are the basics of PD medications, food and drug interactions, drug-nutrient depletions and appropriate nutritional supplements.

Additionally, attendees are invited to participate in Medication Management (Individual Follow Up). These one-on-one sessions with Chris Harlow are individualized for the person, focusing on specific needs and goals.

“Community partnerships are key to our Center’s growth and the ability to serve the local Parkinson’s community. We are thankful that ARGI has selected our organization as a recipient of the ARGI Gives Community Grant. This grant will afford 20 families the opportunity to have one-on-one consultation with a Board Certified Geriatric Pharmacist” says Erika Branch, Executive Director.

ARGI Gives awards quarterly grants to nonprofit and charitable organizations through a competitive application and review process. “Education and Health are two of our core pillars for ARGI Gives,” explains ARGI Gives Chair, Emily Trujillo, CAP®. “We are honored to partner with the Parkinson Support Center of Kentuckiana on this important initiative, and hope that it helps to improve the lives of these 20 families.”
